Immersive Education, Game-based Learning, Virtual Worlds, STEM Education, Augmented Reality, Teacher Technology Integration
I am a faculty member in instructional technology in the School of Education as well facuty in the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) graduate program. My research interested include immersive technologies and game-based learning for teaching and learning in K-20 education. I have received grant funding from NSF and HP for exploring STEM education within a virtual environment. I teach courses in the theory and application of instructional technology in education settings, including CI 202 and CI 505. I received the Early Achievement in Teaching Award from the College of Human Sciences and the Blackboard Catalyst Award for Exemplary courses for my work with game-based learning in large lecture courses.
